Cooperation

February 28, 2015

Cooperation is the word for us this month!  As a team we all have to choose to work together and look at all the fun we are having!  Cakes and more cakes!  So many kinds and so many sizes and different occasions for each one!  Our weekends are filling up with wedding cake orders and Bridal fairs.  We are so thankful for the group of people that God has brought and is still bringing to work and minister here with us!

Mike and I both had a grand vision for what is now covering about six building spaces on our side of the street in this block in downtown Le Mars!  It has taken cooperation with God and with others to watch it all unfold.  Sometimes along the way we didn’t see how it was going to work, and at times we almost had to just start over and regroup.

We entered in to this adventure by faith, with a dream  - and some expectation of how and when it might all happen.  But God always has so much more for us than we could ever ask or think, according to Ephesians 3.  Starting in verse 17 Paul says “that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height – to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God”.

This text is talking about what God wants to do in us, by the power of His Spirit.  And this is definitely to be displayed in our personal lives and should overflow to our business or work life.  The word ‘comprehend’ in this text means to receive experientially, not simply to understand intellectually.  Oh, how we have experienced His love and His fullness in so many ways as we have both sought God’s wisdom and blessing in what we feel He has called us to do.   The fullness of God is to know the love of Christ and to believe and participate in all of His blessings and ways that He resources His children.

We truly believe that as we ask God in prayer for the answers to our big and little questions, He does give us His fullness; which brings us wisdom when we need it to make decisions.  He also brings us the right people and we sense His blessing!   The last verse in this passage in the scriptures says this – Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus, to all generations, forever and ever.  Amen.

We want to continue to cooperate with others and build a strong business and ministry here at Habitué and also at Side by Side Ministries that takes place all day, every day in our ministry complex. I would be remiss to leave out Wells’ Enterprises.  Our prayer and hope is that no matter where we are working or spending our time on any given day that we would comprehend His ways and experience God’s fullness and yes, cooperate with God and with those that He has surrounded us with.  All for the glory and the purposes of God’s Kingdom.
